90 Day Yoga Challenge: Days 11-14
We are two weeks into this challenge! And it couldn't have come at a better time. It's so blisteringly hot here in San Antonio, Texas, I am seeking out refreshing and cooling yoga practices.
However, today I decided to kick it up a notch and try my hand at "Yoga Sculpt" with my mentor, Maria Shamas (via YouTube video). I'm usually not a fan of incorporating words like "sculpt", "weight loss," or "torch" with my yoga practice, but I trusted Maria, and she did not lead me astray. Because she is well-versed in functional yoga, anatomy, and physiology, her yoga with weights offering did not hurt me or encourage me to take on more weight or go faster than I was ready for. I started with 2 lb weights, some resistance bands, and the remote control to pause and take a drink of water when I needed to.
Forty minutes later, we ended with my favorite mudra (hand gesture), garuda mudra and I felt much better than I did before I started.

My schedule is all over the place. Some days I go in at 9 AM, some days (like today) I go in at 3 PM. Some days I work 12 hour days, other days I work 6 hours. Summer is a crazy train at a theme park and I'm so grateful for my yoga practice to keep me grounded in all of this chaos.
