Harvest time

It's late August as I write this and although I live in south central Texas, and it still feels as hot as the middle of summer, I'm looking to the calendar to remind me that now is the time to slow down. I invite you to lean into that late summer energy with me.
This year has been quite monumental so far. The word that I chose for 2025 was "Wisdom," and it has served me well. So many seeds were planted in the early part of the year - new education and outreach programs where I work, potential book deals, pitches for academic journal articles, and more. I was getting to a point where I began to experience impatience. Where are the fruits of my labors?
And then Wisdom reminded me that I needed to create space. There's a great story about a gardener who had a beautiful, flourishing garden. When asked why her plants grew so tall, she replied, "I don't force them to grow. I remove what stops them."
It's time to remove what stops my plants from growing. It's time to allow. For me, that means stepping back, taking a breath, and allowing others to help.
What does it mean for you? How can you start to embrace this season of Harvest?
