One week into this challenge and I'm feeling good. Today I woke up feeling not so good. My cramps were horrible, I was tired. But some quality time on the mat set me straight. I don't mean to sound so blasé about it, but it's the truth. The mat always has my back, and I become a better person to be around when I make myself and my yoga practice a priority.
It is also helping me think more clearly. I love the phrase, "Create a life you don't want to escape from." My daily yoga practice is getting me closer and closer to that goal. I have a lot to be grateful for: a supportive family and husband, good friends around the world, a vision, and an adequate amount of talent to help turn my dreams into reality. I am also restless. I went a little longer than the minimum time I planned, which was a positive step for me. I won't always be able to do completely free timed practice, but when I can, I want to! I go back to work next week and I'll need timed practice if I want to do it before work.
I am so happy to see all the other ladies getting in some yoga time whenever possible! It's going…
Day 5 was about trusting myself that I have the strength to truly build my practice. Look at that! I'm calling it "my practice"! I'm starting to watch more videos outside of "practice time" to understand more about yoga. That is how I realized that saying the term "my practice" actually meant your own personal yoga 🧘♀️ practice that you create for YOURSELF. I always thought that term was for a certified instructor's sessions that the average person gets to watch and join in on. My practice is slow process and I'm in no rush. I want to make it about feeling better, being more self aware, feeling stronger, and finding peace in my everyday. It can be what …
